Yes. Anyone 16 or older must carry a valid Ohio Lake Erie fishing license. If the trip crosses into Pennsylvania waters, you’ll also need a PA license or a reciprocal 3-day tourist permit. Licenses are not sold on the dock, so please purchase online or at a local tackle shop before arrival.

From May through early July we focus on limit-class walleye close to shore. As the lake warms (July–October) we run deeper for trophy walleye and steelhead in deep water. Spring and fall shoulder seasons can also offer smallmouth bass fishing.

We supply rods, reels, tackle, bait, safety gear, and ice. You should pack: your fishing license, soft-soled shoes, weather-layered clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks or lunch, drinks (no glass, please), and a cooler to take fillets home. Motion-sensitive folks may want seasickness tablets 30–60 minutes before departure. You can find our full list here.

Your safety comes first. The captain checks NOAA and real-time buoy data; if conditions are unsafe we will 1) delay departure, or 2) reschedule—your choice. Light rain rarely stops us, so bring a waterproof jacket just in case.
